Our most important goal is to brighten the everyday lives of orphaned children in the Carpathian Basin!

Our first charity campaign was started by friends at Christmas 2011, when we gave gifts to children in need. Seeing their faces light up, we knew we wanted to do it again — and not just once a year.

The children in the homes welcome the gifts, the shared activities and the donors with enormous love. We aim to give in a way that fits the particular situation of each institution, so our programmes have kept growing and changing from the very beginning until today.

We are constantly re-planning and setting new goals, guided by the needs of our volunteer donors, the children and the institutions.

Where does my donation go?

The journey of a donation — from drop-off to the children. We organise every step ourselves.

  1. Collection

Donations from individuals, schools, municipalities and companies come together.

  2. Storage

Everything is sorted, checked and packed in Nyíregyháza.

  3. Transport

We organise the transports ourselves and document every delivery.

  4. Handover

Together with the institutions and our local partners, we hand over the aid.

  5. Children

Children's homes, families and institutions in the Carpathian Basin.

What we do

Four areas where we make everyday life in children's homes better.

Education

Learning through play matters most to curious children. Carefree play together helps the residents of the homes grow, and the shared experiences do both the little ones and the donors good. That is why we value bringing generations together, the chance to learn from one another, and giving children the right tools. From coloured pencils to computers, from arts and crafts to language learning — everything serves the development of those in need! Donate used or new equipment yourself, so that orphaned children can start life with equal opportunities!

Infrastructure

There is hardly any funding for improving children's homes; operators are glad if they can simply meet the regulations. Most of them are housed in outdated buildings with old furniture and equipment, and modernisation is a real headache for the people who run them. In most cases even repainting is only possible thanks to volunteers. Our plans include installing solar collectors, which would greatly help with the hot water supply — but in most places the kitchen equipment and other appliances, such as washing machines and dryers, also need replacing. Almost everywhere, the children's beds and furniture should be replaced as well. To this end, we launched a programme that aimed to fully re-equip and expand 80 homes by the end of 2018.

Travel organisation

“The journey is the destination.” There is no more exciting feeling than getting ready for a trip. For orphaned children, a trip abroad — or any trip at all — is a very big dream. Sadly, we have seen this again and again over the years when talking to the children. So it was almost obvious that we should organise trips for them. Giving this feeling of freedom to the children living in the homes is a wonderful experience! Travelling together recharges everyone! Our plans also include a transport vehicle and setting up a holiday centre in Austria! Give the orphans the gift of travel, a summer camp or winter adventures!

Experiences

Being able to give and receive shared experiences as members of a community is a basic human need. Children living in homes grow up in a less stimulating environment, so it is a great joy for them when visitors come for a shared activity or game, or when they are invited somewhere themselves. The greatest adventure for them is a leisure activity together: games, excursions, baking and cooking, ice cream, cycling! Give the children experiences, too!

Together we achieve more

We are proud that our work is supported by civil organisations, institutions, companies, volunteers and professional partners.
